Country Fair

What a busy morning it was, starting off with Jared's Preliminary grade piano exam. He has been practising the exam pieces for over two months now and was relieved to sit for the exam and move on to new songs. Jared said he was pretty happy with his performance so I guess that's all that matters. We should get the results by the end of next week.

After that, we headed off to the Overnewton Country Fair at Jared's school. This is one o
f the major events organised by the school with amusement rides, show bags, stalls selling toys, jewelleries, books, cakes and hampers to name a few. One of my favourite stop was the Junior School Visual Arts display which featured artwork from students in Grade Prep to Four.
Here are Jared's artworks which were on display.

Look what we found in the secondhand section? I didn't know there even existed a Dr. Seuss Green Eggs and Ham Game. And the old Monopoly set would've been a good addition to Jared's collection, given his addiction to Monopoly. Unfortunately, alot of the pieces were missing so it wasn't really worth the purchase, even if only for $2.00.

Jared recently joined the Junior Strings group as an extension to his private violin lessons at school. Today, they performed 3 songs at the school fair. Mummy, Daddy and Kieran gathered to watch and we even had Sue, Hannah, John and Jack cheering them on. It was quite noisy at the fair and I can't say that we could hear them all that well, but nevertheless, Jared seemed like he had a lot of fun on stage.

Just before we left, I roamed the Bookshop at the fair and bought all these books for $20 in total. What a bargain!

Love that book stall. Loved the Stringlings performance too - what a great name for the group. Well done Jared!
